STEP 1

Register a Domain Name
__________________

A domain name typically looks like www.MyWebsite.com.
Domain names are registered on an annual basis and they can cost anywhere between $10 and $50 per year. I can show you how to get one free for life as part of your hosting service (see step 2).

Important to note:
Your domain name should be chosen with care as it will directly affect how easily your customers will find your site. Before you decide on a name I recommend you visit all of the links below which provide useful cross-section of tips on the best way to choose your name.

STEP 2

Get a Web Host
__________________

A 'web host' is a company that enables your website to be viewed by the rest of the world by means of a 'server' linked to the World Wide Web.
A good hosting plan can be anywhere between $5 per month and many thousands per month.

I can recommend an excellent hosting plan for $3.95 per month which offers you all the features you could ever need with 24/7 live support, unlimited data transfer and storage with no hidden fees.

Don't be misled by offers of "free web hosting"... as the expression goes 'there's no free lunch'. Sure you can go that route but your site will be plagued by other peoples advertising and pop-ups (some very unsavory) and your customers will think you are "cheap".

STEP 3

Build your Website
________________

Your site needs to be neat and businesslike. Anything less than a professional looking site will make your business look small and unreliable.

It needs to be easy to navigate, and well categorized to save your customers valuable time finding what they need. It is also important that your site works well, loads quickly and can be viewed in all browsers.

Below are links to some sites I have recently built for clients with very different products and needs.

Computer Repair
Cosmetic Product Sales
Musician
Crystal Artists
